Остановите отравление Храмовой горы, остановите захоронение в Баб Аль-Рахме

In 2005, Supreme Court of Israel received a petition from top leading archeologists. They urged to cease illegal excavations on the Temple Mount’s eastern slope. The Bab al-Rahmah cemetery (مقبرة باب الرحمة), Cemetery of the Mercy Gate, is located there. It was approved to be part of National Park “Jerusalem Old City Walls” in 1974.

Later, it has been re-approved in 2000 by all the relevant authorities. The process of those plans being put on paper was accompanied by releasing banknotes of David Ben Gurion. The banknotes also featured the Old City’s Mercy Gate, the oldest standing gate in Jerusalem.

But those plans are being challenged. The very same place is on the banknote instead of the National Park. This ground (30111/5-7 in Israeli land map) became a top seller ILLEGAL burial site. The continuous efforts of the Jordanian waqf aim to occupy more territory for its’ profitable burial industry.
No real estate costs! No fines, no penalties! No even taxes, pure profits !

New graves are being excavated, all archaeological findings are trashed or stolen while occupying the site. Most of the time, open or temporary closed empty graves are awaiting its’ new illegal owners death.

The very foundation corner of the Mercy Gate, the oldest monument of Jerusalem Old City wall, has faced heavy impact. This is due to excavation, preparation, and construction of this new burial site.

The foundations of the oldest gate were damaged, archaeological crime to say at least.

2018, same place covered completely with trash, mix of ancient stones from the wall and modern rubbish and displaced milestone.

This illegal burial activity performed by Jordanian waqf is very dangerous. It poses a biological threat. Huge contamination reservoirs are within few meters of many underground wells and cisterns in the Temple Mount. These reservoirs may spread the human body’s decomposition leaks in the water over large distances. The spread can happen for years, finding the next chain of infection.

In 2019, the new sealed construction was built. It included an attached collected sample of olive branch. This sample was taken as a probe 30 meters far away into the inner part of the Temple Mount.

Now why is all this happening? Let me introduce to you the verdict #7800/05 coming out of the Supreme Court of Justice in year 2005.

Supreme Court of Justice had ignored a point in petition 7800/05. It stated that burial or excavation is prohibited and forbidden without approval of Ministry of Health. The court mostly denied the petition without saying a word about public health hazard.

Ongoing burial by the Jordanian Waqf unit at the Temple Mount’s eastern slope contaminates the surrounding underground waters. This spreads the biohazard further in the ground. It flows through olive trees’ roots and reaches houses and restaurants of Jerusalem. The contamination finds new contagious chains and victims.

The reasons and processes are explained in the following video. It includes an audio recording discussing the issue with the State Controller of Israel advocate.
As shown in the last video, picking an olive is not easy. It becomes more difficult when you are not a Muslim.
SARS-CoV-2, known as coronavirus, was not discounted as a serious epidemic issue in Israel. Yet, it was completely ignored during massive gatherings of people. This is obvious in the next “Super-Spreader” video.
In that context of ignoring public health hazards, we had evaluated the impact of the burial site. The investigation focused on water. So far, samples collected from the nearest Gihon spring have been found to be contaminated. They exceed by far the allowed concentration of colimorph bacteria such as E.Coli.

Health Ministry’s limit recommendations are up to 400 CFU/100ml in waters contacting with persons. This includes rivers and lakes open for the public. Here, we can clearly see much greater results of biohazardous contamination.
The current status of this Wild Jerusalem project is pending environmental analysis by Israeli government agencies. They are monitoring up with the City of David.
To collect new samples from the Temple Mount, I have faced restrictions. These are due to the apartheid policy of the Jordanian waqf and the limitations of the status quo. I’ve opened a volunteering position limited to Arabic Muslim applicants only.
